Assistant Manager

This position offers exposure to all aspects of public accounting, from the preparation and review of complex tax returns of business, individual, estate and trust, to tax and accounting research and planning and assistance with compilation and review of financial statements. There is opportunity to quickly advance within the company for the right individual.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with strong analytical, organizational, client service, communication, and PC skills including CCH Suites, Onpoint PCR, Excel & QuickBooks proficiency. The work is fast-paced and well suited to professionals that are able to work both independently and as part of a team.  CPA license or MST degree is not required; however, ideal candidate must be qualified to sit in CPA exam and already enrolled taking courses in MST program and working toward CPA license and MST degree for this managerial position. The job duties include, but not limit to:

-Review client bookkeeping and propose adjusting journal entries.

-Review sales tax returns, property tax returns and payroll tax quarterly.

-Review client accounts for discrepancies and reconcile differences.

-Review individual and business income tax returns.

-Prepare complex tax returns.

-Prepare compiled and reviewed financial statements with Onpoint PCR

-Research on tax and accounting issues.

-Manage projects and workflows in the office.

-Train staff and interns on various softwares and how to prepare basis tax returns.

-Train staff on bookkeeping and write-ups.

-Work with CCH Axcess Suites, QuickBooks and Sage; Excel, Word, Adobe, Outlook.

-Communicate with partners & colleagues within the office as well as assigned clients via email or phone.

-Manage and develop client relationships.
